Valentine is just three days away and I'm thinking of what to give my wife. I thought of a romantic dinner at Seven Suites Hotel Observatory in Antipolo, yet backed out since we have been going there since last year.

This is my first foray at writing food. Not so many know me as a foodie. Fact is, aside from politics, food and travel are two preoccupations that I just can't seem to shake off. I love to travel. And of course, I love to eat. That's why I'm now 180 pounds from a lanky 130.

Every week, I go to different places in this country, eating, and enjoying my weekends. My weekends are sacred. I spend considerable time with my family, usually a trip out of town. I love going on nature trips. Nature energizes me.

I also love going to beaches. Seeing the beach and enjoying the sun makes me feel energized. I love seeing trees and enjoying the cool breeze of the wind.

There are many places here in this country where you could enjoy the best accommodations at the cheapest or reasonable prices. If you don't have enough money to spend for an out of town trip, then, I'll point you to a nearest place here in Metro Manila where you could spend some money and enjoy your night. There are different restaurants, bars and hotels which offer reasonable rates. And great food. There are, however, fakers.
